Attribute Value Combiner

Use it to build a composite key, a full address from its parts, or a display string for labelling — without writing a field calculator expression.

• Output Field lists only editable text fields, as the dialog states. The combined value is text, so a numeric or date field cannot receive it. Create a text field first with Add multiple Fields.
• Source Fields is the ordered list of fields to join. The All and Clear buttons select and deselect the whole list.
• Separator is the text placed between values — a space, a hyphen, a slash, or nothing at all.
• Empty Values and Skip empty source values control what happens when a source field is null. With Skip empty source values checked, a missing part does not leave a stranded separator behind, so Village--District becomes Village-District. Leave it unchecked only when the position of each part must be preserved.
• The Preview pane shows the combined result for real features before anything is written. Check it — it is where a wrong separator or a wrong field order becomes obvious.
• Overwrite existing output values governs whether populated output values are replaced or left alone.
• Use selected features only limits the operation to the current selection, which is the safe way to test.
• The combined value is a snapshot, not a live expression. Editing a source field afterwards does not update the output field — run the tool again. If you need a value that always tracks its sources, build a label expression with Label Control instead.

1. Create a text field long enough for the combined result, using Add multiple Fields.
2. On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Data Management group, open the VectorIQ menu, point to Manage, and click Attribute Value Combiner.
3. Set Target Layer and Output Field.
4. Select the fields to join in Source Fields, in the order they should appear.
5. Type the Separator.
6. Check Skip empty source values so missing parts do not leave stray separators.
7. Check the Preview pane against what you expected.
8. Click Combine Attributes, then Close.

Requires an active KGA Toolbox license. The tool validates the license before running.
