Smart Extract

• The dialog states the scope plainly: extract one feature layer to a new feature class. For several layers at once, use Batch Export.
• Use attribute query enables the condition builder. Left unchecked, the whole layer — or the current selection — is extracted.
• The condition builder is the same as in Smart Select. Conditions are combined with And/Or, and each compares a Field using an Operator against either a typed Value or another Compare Field.
• Available operators: Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than, Greater Or Equal, Less Than, Less Or Equal, Contains, Starts With, Ends With, Is Null, Is Not Null
• Use selected features only restricts the extraction to the current map selection. It combines with the attribute query — the result is the features that are both selected and match the conditions.
• Select applies the query as a map selection so it can be checked before extracting. Use it: it is much quicker to correct a condition than to delete an unwanted output.
• Output Location and Output Feature Class Name set where the result is written.

1. On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Data Management group, open the VectorIQ menu, point to Extract, and click Smart Extract.
2. Set Source Layer.
3. To filter, check Use attribute query, then click Add Condition and build the test.
4. Click Select and confirm the highlighted features are the ones you want.
5. Set Output Location and Output Feature Class Name.
6. Click Extract, then Close.

Requires an active KGA Toolbox license. The tool validates the license before running.
