Pivot Table Builder

This is the grouped counterpart to Statistics Summary: one row per category, rather than one overall figure.

ការប្រើប្រាស់

  • Group Field defines the categories — one output row per distinct value. Value Field supplies the numbers being summarised.
  • Every group gets the same columns:
ColumnMeaning
GroupThe Group Field value
CountRows in the group
ValuesRows with a non-null value
Nulls / Null %Rows with no value, in absolute and percentage terms
Sum / AverageThe total and the mean
Minimum / Maximum / RangeThe extremes and their span
MedianThe middle value
Variance / Std. Dev.The spread
  • The Null % column is the one to read first. A group whose values are mostly null has statistics based on very few rows, and its average is not comparable with a well-populated group's. The column exists so that this is visible rather than hidden.
  • Choose a Group Field with a manageable number of distinct values. Grouping by a near-unique field such as a parcel number produces one row per feature and tells you nothing.
  • Use selected features only restricts the pivot to the current map selection.
  • Build Pivot computes the table; Export Pivot writes it out for use in a report or spreadsheet.
