ទិដ្ឋភាពទូទៅ

Minimum-width rules appear in subdivision regulations and building codes. A parcel that satisfies its area requirement can still be unbuildable because it is too narrow.

ការប្រើប្រាស់

  • Width Method trades speed against exactness: Use Rotating Calipers for compliance checking on irregular parcels — the bounding-rectangle method can pass a parcel that a true width measurement would fail.
ChoiceBehaviour
Minimum Bounding Rectangle (default)Approximates width as the short side of the parcel's minimum bounding rectangle. Fast, and correct for rectangular parcels. Overstates the width of an L-shaped or tapering parcel, because the rectangle ignores the narrow waist.
Rotating CalipersComputes the true minimum width across all orientations. Slower on large datasets, but correct for irregular shapes.
  • Minimum Width (meters) defaults to 10. The value is interpreted in metres, so the parcel layer should be in a projected coordinate system using metres.
  • Input Parcel Layer accepts polygon layers only.
  • The output feature class carries the measured width and the pass/fail flag, so it can be symbolised to show non-compliant parcels directly.

Parameters for Min Width Check
ឈ្មោះប្រភេទទិន្នន័យការពិពណ៌នា
Input Parcel LayerFeature Layer

The parcel layer to measure. Polygon geometry only.

Parcel ID FieldField

The field identifying each parcel in the output.

Minimum Width (meters)Double

The width threshold below which a parcel is flagged. Default is 10.

Output Feature ClassFeature Class

The feature class recording each parcel's measured width and whether it meets the threshold.

Width MethodString

How the minimum width is computed. Default is Minimum Bounding Rectangle.

  • Minimum Bounding Rectangle — fast approximation; overstates width on irregular shapes
  • Rotating Calipers — exact minimum width across all orientations

របៀបប្រើ

  1. Confirm the parcel layer uses a projected coordinate system in metres.
  2. On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Geoprocessing group, open the Cadastral Tools gallery and click Min Width Check.
  3. Set Input Parcel Layer and Parcel ID Field.
  4. Set Minimum Width (meters) to the regulatory threshold.
  5. Set Output Feature Class.
  6. Set Width Method. For compliance checking on irregular parcels, choose Rotating Calipers.
  7. Click Run.
  8. Add the output to the map and symbolise by the flag field to see the non-compliant parcels.
