Legacy parcel data recorded on the Indian datum will not overlay modern WGS 84 imagery correctly — the shift is tens to hundreds of metres. This tool performs the conversion with the correct transformation rather than a plain reprojection.

- Input Polygon Layer is the layer to convert. Its current coordinate system is read automatically and shown in Input Coordinate System, which is bound to the input layer.
- Confirm Input Coordinate System before running. If the layer's metadata declares the wrong coordinate system — common in older shapefiles where the
.prjfile was copied from elsewhere — the conversion will silently produce wrong results. Set the declared coordinate system correctly first, using the Esri Define Projection tool (available on the ribbon from the CRS gallery), then run this tool. - Output Coordinate System is the target. For Cambodian work this is normally WGS 1984 UTM Zone 48N.
- Reprojecting does not change the data's accuracy — it changes its frame of reference. A conversion cannot recover survey precision the original data never had.

- Add the legacy layer to the map.
- Check the layer's declared coordinate system in Layer Properties → Source. If it is wrong or missing, correct it with Define Projection before continuing.
- On the KGA Toolbox tab, in the Geoprocessing group, open the CRS gallery and click Indian to WGS84 UTM Converter.
- Set Input Polygon Layer. Confirm the value filled into Input Coordinate System.
- Set Output Feature Layer.
- Set Output Coordinate System to the target — for example, WGS 1984 UTM Zone 48N.
- Click Run, then overlay the result on satellite imagery to confirm it now registers correctly.
